Aviator GlassesOriginally Aviator eyewear was made in 1936 for pilots of the Army designed to protect their eyes during a flight - hence the name "Aviator". A year later, the glasses were also sold to the public. Known the world over, as General Douglas MacArthur landed on a beach in the Philippines during World War II, journalists took pictures of him wearing a pair of glasses. The pictures were printed everywhere and the aviator style glasses became famous. In 1987, even a sunglasses line was dedicated to the general. Since then, the glasses have never really disappeared, but especially in recent years make a brilliant comeback. Typical for the aviator sunglasses are the large glasses, which are also available in the mirrored version, as well as the thin metal frame. If you are looking for a more robust retro style, then take a look at our Vintage category or the Nerd and Wayfarer glasses. If you are looking for glasses for the sport, we have the right thing for you in our shop. But both as a man and as a woman, you are guaranteed to be in the trend with our aviator sunglasses and aviator glasses.
